Some of you may be aware that he packed up all his goodies onto the ship and left on Tues 2 Feb to go away for 10-12 weeks. However there was some problems with the boat so they came home overnight the next day.
When I dropped him back at the ship on Thurs 4 Feb, the last thing I expected was a phone call an hour later asking to be picked up as he had been landed. As he is being posted to the Air Surveying unit at the airport at the end of June, he needed to do a heap of aviation medicals. Thus, 15 minutes before the ship left, it was decided that Ryan was to grab a bag and hop off and stay behind. He was then expected to meet the ship around the 18th. But in the meantime there has been a bit of a tug-of-war between the two areas as there are some courses in March and April that he needs to do.
Anyway to cut a long story short, he is not going back to the ship and will be working at the base for the next 6 weeks while the air surveying dept go elsewhere for a deployment.
So what does all this mean? Ryan will have two 3-day courses to do in March and April, then we go to America (only 66 days to go) and then he will do a 2 month course in Cairns in July. And it also means he only goes away once a year for about 6 weeks. A bit more copeable. It also means that the ship has all of his stuff on it until it gets back. TV, fishing rods, pillow, clothes hard drive, phone charger, clippers etc etc
Other news at the moment is that Sue and Rob are coming up on the 30th of March for 10 days. Cant wait for that. I think the pizza oven will be getting a workout!!!!! Also, mum and Dad are currently in Asia somewhere on a cruise. Lucky them!
Now for some scrapping. Haven't done any scrapping at home at all - too busy with work and spending time on the Wii trying to get a bit of exercise done. But I did go down to Babinda last Sunday and churned out two layouts that I like - one I didnt so it wont be shown here
