Washington DC Day 2

Another busy day. Got the Metro to Arlington Cemetery where we met the shuttle and toured the cemetery. It is very very big in size and history. JFK's grave, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Challenger Space Shuttle Memorial etc.

Then back into town to the Lincoln Memorial, Korean Memorial and Vietnam Memorial (do you see a theme here haha). A short walk back to the bus to go get lunch at Union Station. Now that is a train station like we've never seen before. It's a full on shopping precinct with a basement food court that has around 50 food outlets.

We even managed to find Dinosaur Doughnuts. We had to buy one - it was like an original krispy Kreme but was the size of a dinner plate!!!!! We were going to sit on the lawn at Capitol Hill and take photos eating it, but when we went into the visitors center, they said no food allowed and made us throw it out!!!!! So pissed off as it would've been some hilarious photos to scrap - had even come up with a few titles. Hopefully will find some more somewhere.

Capitol Hill was quite awe inspiring and impressive in size. I reckon if I worked there I would get very lost.

The last stop for us was the National Air and Space Museum. Thus was really interesting with heaps of things to look at. Ryan was very knowledgeable on a lit of the space exhibits. We spent about 2.5 hrs there.

So after being out for nearly 12 hrs we have just had a meal at The Red Lobster and are about to get a cab back to the hotel to pack up and get ready to fly to San Francisco tomorrow morning.

Oh, and look who we met on our travels............
